1. General
 
How these rules impact Multiply members
1.1. These rules will apply to and bind all Multiply members, who must reside in the Republic of South Africa (RSA).
 
1.2. The rewards of the Multiply programme can only be used for leisure and not business purposes.
 
1.3. When Multiply members participate in the Multiply programme, it means they have read, understood and agreed to these rules. 
 
1.4. Multiply may amend the rules from time to time, more fully set out in clause17. Generally changes take effect from 1 January, although Multiply may occasionally implement changes to the rules during the calendar year.

 

 
2. Definitions
 
2.1. “Adult dependent” refers to a dependent who:
2.1.1. is a Multiply member,
2.1.2. is 18 years of age or older (Multiply Premier)  or 19 years or older (Multiply Provider), and
2.1.3. is listed as a dependent of the principal member, on that principal member’s medical scheme membership or as a life assured on any other Momentum product.
 
2.2. “Child dependent” refers to a dependent who:
2.2.1. is a Multiply member’s or partner’s natural child, or is a member’s or partner’s legally adopted child or a child in the process of being legally adopted, or a child who has been placed in the custody of a member or his partner by arrangement with an authority and for whom a member is responsible for family care and support, and
2.2.2. is under the age of 18 (Multiply Premier) or under the age of 19 (Multiply Provider).
 
2.3. “Extended family” refers to a dependent who:
2.3.1. are parents or grandparents of the policyholder and partner, but not limited to and
2.3.2. additional spouses (not the primary partner).
 
2.4. “Client” refers to:
2.4.1. a MMI Group policyholder (a natural person, not an entity), who has purchased any product from MMI  Group  and its associated retirement funds that offer Multiply as a voluntary benefit, or
2.4.2. a principal member of a qualifying medical scheme, or
2.4.3. a member of a qualifying group.
 
2.5. “Member(s)” or “you” or “your” refers to a client with a Multiply membership.
 
2.6. “Momentum ” refers to MMI Group  Limited (registration number 1904/002186/06), a company registered under the company laws of the RSA and its subsidiaries 
 
2.7. “MMI Multiply (Pty) Ltd”(registration number 1971/006353/07), refers to a company registered under the company laws of the RSA, a wholly owned subsidiary of MMI Group Limited 
 
2.8. “Multiply” or “we” or “us” or “our” is an incentivized wellness solution  that rewards and encourages its members to become holistically well,  by arranging access to various wellness and leisure facilities and services; and offering members discounts at various providers and services to incentivize their wellness behavior. Multiply is managed and operated by Momentum Interactive (Pty) Ltd.
 
2.9. “Partner” refers to a person with whom a Multiply member has a committed and serious relationship similar to a marriage. This relationship is based on objective criteria of mutual dependency and a shared and common household, irrespective of the gender of either party.
 
2.10. “Qualifying products” refers to insurance, investment and retirement products offered by Momentum and its associated retirement funds that offer Multiply as a voluntary benefit.
 
2.11. “Qualifying groups” refers to all entities that have entered into agreement with Momentum to offer Multiply as a voluntary benefit to all eligible members, employees or clients.
 
2.12. “Qualifying medical schemes” refers to Momentum Health, restricted medical schemes administered by Momentum Medical Scheme Administrators (MMSA) and other medical schemes that have entered into agreement with Momentum to offer Multiply membership to the scheme members.
 
2.13. “Service provider” or “Multiply partner” refers to a company with which Momentum enters into agreement to offer discounts and rewards or benefits on various products and services through the Multiply programme.
 
2.14. “Single parent” refers to a member whose dependents are children dependents only.
 
2.15. In these rules, the singular always refers to plural, as well the other way around.
 
2.16. In these rules references to the masculine gender shall include the feminine. 

 

 
3. Multiply membership
 
3.1. Who qualifies for Multiply Premier?
The following individuals qualify for voluntary Multiply membership:
3.1.1. Principal members of qualifying medical schemes
3.1.2. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, who own qualifying products that have been in force for at least 12 months.
3.1.3. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, who own qualifying products that have been in force for less than 12 months, with a combined minimum contractual monthly contribution of R300 (excluding the Multiply contribution).
3.1.4. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, who owns a single-premium (or lump sum) investment policy. Certain minimum values apply, which may change from time to time. (Minimum values match those of the underlying product house).
3.1.5. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, with a paid-up or open-ended Momentum Group product. Certain minimum paid-up and open-ended values apply, which may change from time to time as determined by the underlying product house.
3.1.6. In the event that there are multiple policyholders on a single Momentum product, only one of those policyholders qualifies to join Multiply with that policy as the qualifying policy. If the other policyholders also want to join Multiply, they can qualify by becoming policyholders on separate Momentum products.
3.1.7. Multiply reserves the right to, from time to time, via a special offer, allow clients to join Multiply without owning any qualifying product.
 
3.2. Who qualifies for Multiply Provider?
3.2.1. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, who owns a qualifying product that is in force. 
3.2.2. Dependents over and under 19 may be added to the contract at a specified fee
3.2.3. Qualifying groups and schemes that have existing Multiply Starter contracts are eligible to purchase Multiply Provider.
 
3.3. Who qualifies for Multiply Starter?
3.3.1. A Momentum policyholder or life assured, who owns a qualifying product that is in force. 
 
 
4. More qualifying criteria: partner and dependents
4.1. Qualifying medical scheme members:
4.1.1. A member may have more or less persons on their Premier Multiply membership than on the medical scheme.
 
4.2. Clients and qualifying group members:
A member may add a partner if:
4.2.1. the partner is an insured life on the member’s Momentum life insurance product, or
4.2.2. the partner has his own Momentum product.
 
4.3. There is a maximum limit of 5 dependents allowed on Multiply Premier.
 
4.4. A member cannot be on two different Multiply plans at the same time. 

 

 
5. Factors that affect your membership
 
5.1. Marriage
5.1.1. If a single member marries a non-Multiply member, the status level that the single member reached in that particular calendar year will be maintained for the rest of the calendar year – as a family membership (see clause  7). 
5.1.2. If the number of points earned by a member and partner are not sufficient to meet the family threshold for the particular status at the end of the calendar year, the Multiply status will be adjusted accordingly at the start of the following calendar year.
5.1.3. If two Multiply members marry each other, they have the option to either keep two separate Multiply memberships or to cancel one of the memberships and upgrade the other to a family membership. 
5.1.4. If they choose to upgrade, Multiply will transfer the Multiply points accrued in that calendar year before the partner cancelled his membership to the upgraded membership. However, please note that any ad-hoc points we may award from time to time, could be specific to a membership and Multiply will only award them once.
 
5.2. Divorce and death
5.2.1. If a member dies or gets divorced, Multiply will cancel all the benefits of the member’s partner, except if:
5.2.1.1. the partner has an existing Momentum policy or qualifying medical scheme membership and joins Multiply within two months of the date of the divorce or death, or
5.2.1.2. the partner does not have an existing Momentum policy or qualifying medical scheme membership, but takes out a new Momentum policy. In addition the partner must join Multiply within two months of the date of divorce or death, or
5.2.1.3. the partner marries another Multiply member within two months of the date of divorce or death.
5.2.2. If the partner enters into a Multiply contract of his own or joins another Multiply contract as a partner, Multiply will transfer the Multiply points that the partner accrued during that calendar year to the new contract.

 

 
6. When does Multiply membership start?
 
6.1. Multiply Premier membership will start either:
6.1.1. the first day of the calendar month in which Multiply received the membership application, if the application was received on or before the 15th of the month; or
6.1.2. the first day of the month immediately following the month in which Multiply received the membership application, if the application was received after the 15th of the month.
 
6.2. Multiply Provider membership will start on:
6.2.1. any day of the month that the member requests for it to start; or
6.2.2. any date in the future that the member requests to future date the start of the Multiply Provider contract, provided that the Multiply Provider application has been received and approved.
 
6.3. Multiply Starter membership will start on:
6.3.1. any day of the month that the member requests for it to start; or
6.3.2. any date in the future that the member requests to future date the start of the Multiply Starter contract, provided that the Multiply Starter application has been received and approved. 
 
6.4. All Multiply plans can only be active if there is a qualifying Momentum product in active. 

 

 
7. Types of membership
 
7.1. Multiply Premier
When members apply for a Multiply Premier membership, they could qualify for one of three types of Multiply Premier memberships:
7.1.1. Single member – a member with no dependents.
7.1.2. Family of two – a member with one dependent. The dependent could be a member’s partner or a child dependent (for a single parent).
7.1.3. Family of three or more - a member with two or more dependents. All the dependents could be child dependents (for a single parent) or one dependent could be a member’s partner and the remaining dependents could be child dependents.
 
7.2. Multiply Provider
When members apply for a Multiply Provider membership, they could qualify for one of two types of Multiply Provider memberships:
7.2.1. Single member – a member with no dependents.
7.2.2. Family of two – a member with one dependent. The dependent could be a member’s partner.
7.2.3. If members wish to add dependents (both adult and child) to either contract, they may.
 
7.3. Multiply Starter
When members apply for a Multiply Starter membership, they could qualify for one of the following types of Multiply Starter memberships:
7.3.1. Single member – a member with no dependents.
7.3.2. Family of two – a member with one dependent. The dependent could be a member’s partner.
7.3.3. Family of three or more - a member with two or more dependents. All the dependents could be child dependents (for a single parent) or one dependent could be a member’s partner and the remaining dependents could be child dependents.

 

 
8. Membership fees
 
8.1. Once the member’s membership starts, they have to start paying a monthly Multiply membership fee for Multiply Premier and Multiply Provider. There are no fees for Multiply Starter. 
 
8.2. Generally, Multiply fees increase every year on 1 January. The increase varies from year to year. 
 
8.3. Fees are inclusive of Value-Added Tax (VAT). The provisions of the Value-Added Tax Act 89 of 1991 and subsequent amendments will be applicable.
 
8.4. The membership fees will differ according to the membership type. A member (individual business) or a company (group business) may pay the fees.
 
8.5. Individual business:
8.5.1. Premiums may be paid monthly in advance.
8.5.2. Premiums may be paid via debit order. 
8.5.3. If Multiply receives the membership application after the selected monthly fee deduction date, and the membership commences on the first day of the calendar month in which the application was received, Multiply will deduct a double monthly fee on the following deduction date.
8.5.4.  When a member joins Multiply, their contract will immediately be active but should the date of joining be later than the deduction date for the month an immediate debit order will be deducted off the elected account.
8.5.5 Please note: If members fail to pay the monthly fee on the deduction date, the membership will be cancelled and all membership contributions and benefits forfeited immediately.
 
8.6. Group business:
8.6.1. Premiums may be paid monthly in advance or monthly in arrears.
8.6.2. Premiums may be paid via a company debit order or stop order.
8.6.3. If Multiply receives the membership application after the selected monthly fee deduction date, and the membership commences on the first day of the calendar month in which the application was received, Multiply will deduct a double monthly fee on the following deduction date, irrespective whether it is in arrears or in advance.
8.6.4. Multiply will cancel memberships and a business will forfeit all membership contributions and benefits immediately following non-payment of the monthly fees via a company debit order.
8.6.5. Multiply will cancel memberships and a business will forfeit all membership contributions and benefits forfeited after two consecutive months of non-payment of the monthly fees for companies paying via stop order.
 
8.7. There may be extra fees charged for using certain partners or benefits, which are disclosed in certain of the individual Partner sections. These fees may be due to third parties or directly to Multiple and can include: 
8.7.1. Activation fees; and
8.7.2. Monthly fees

 

 
9. Membership card
 
9.1. Members will receive a Multiply membership card to activate their Multiply membership. The terms and conditions of the membership card are incorporated into these rules, as if expressly stated in this document. If there are any inconsistencies between the terms and conditions of the membership card and these rules, these rules will prevail.
 
9.2. Members can only use the membership card for identification purposes and not for any cash or credit transactions.
 
9.3. Members must present the membership card to the service providers to access the provider benefits and for identity purposes as a qualifying Multiply member. If members do not want to make use of the provided benefits, they do not have to show their membership card or identify themselves.
 
9.4. Multiply reserves the right to cancel their Multiply membership if they use the membership card in a fraudulent or unauthorized manner.

 

 
10. Multiply Premier Status and Multiply Provider Level
 
10.1. Some benefits depend on the member’s Multiply Premier status or Multiply Provider Level.
 
10.2. The higher the member’s status or level, the more benefits they can enjoy.
 
10.3. If the Multiply status or level changes the rules relating to the benefits may also change.
 
10.4. New Multiply Premier members will enter the programme and start on Bronze. The more points they earn, the higher the status they will reach.
 
10.5. New Multiply Provider members will enter the programme and start on Level 1. The more points they earn, the higher the level they will reach.
 
10.6. The different statuses for Multiply Premier are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Private Club status.
 
10.7. The different levels for Multiply Provider are: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
 
10.8. Multiply Starter has no levels or statuses.
 
10.9. To move up a status or level, members must earn enough points to reach the relevant status threshold.
 
10.10. At the end of every calendar year, members will retain the status they have earned in that calendar year for the duration of the next calendar year. For example, if a member earned sufficient points in a calendar year to achieve Gold status, then they will remain on Gold status for the duration of the next calendar year. The member’s status will be adjusted to a lower level if they did not earn enough points to maintain their current status in a calendar year. The same rule applies for Multiply Provider.
 
10.11. See “Points and Status Rules” for details on status rules and how many points are needed for each status for Multiply Premier.

11. Multiply points
 
11.1. Multiply rewards members with great discounts for doing the everyday things members should be doing to ensure a healthy and happy life. 
 
11.2. By using a points system, Multiply incentivizes members to maintain or enhance a healthy lifestyle.
 
11.3. The number of adults (i.e. member and partner) on the Multiply membership will determine the number of points required to move up the status levels for Multiply Premier and Multiply Provider. 
 
11.4. To illustrate this, what follows are examples of the points that different combinations of Multiply membership will earn:
 
11.4.1. Single member: The member earns points and the single threshold applies.
11.4.2. Family of two: If the dependent is the partner, then both the member and partner earn points and the family threshold applies. If the dependent is a child (single parent), then the member earns points and the single threshold as shown in the previous table applies.
11.4.3. Family of three: If one of the dependents is the partner, then both the member and partner earn points and the family threshold as shown in the previous table applies. If the dependents are all children (single parent), then the member earns points and the single threshold as shown in the previous table applies.

12. Multiply Benefits
 
12.1. Multiply benefits are available only too active Multiply members.
 
12.2. Benefits are only available in the RSA.
 
12.3. Refunds and payments are only accepted in South African Rands (ZAR).
 
 
12.4. Any refunds made to a member will be made on the value received for the purchase in question as at the date of purchase.
 
12.5. Multiply will not be held liable for any bank charges and/or fees incurred for refunds and/or the return of an item.
 
12.6. The general rules will apply together with rules specific to each service provider or partner. In the instance of a conflict between the rules, the specific service provider or partner rules will apply.
 
12.7. Multiply will negotiate with various companies and/or associations to determine and appoint service providers for Multiply rewards at their sole discretion. Multiply also has the right to review these appointments from time to time.
 
12.8. Multiply will negotiate special rates with each service provider on behalf of the Multiply members who make use of the products and/or services of that particular service provider.
 
12.9. Multiply may, at their sole discretion, conclude, terminate, cancel, amend or vary the service provider agreements and adjust the Multiply benefits accordingly.
 
12.10. Members will not qualify for Multiply benefits from a service provider who has been terminated and/or cancelled from participating in the Multiply programme.
 
12.11. None of the Multiply benefits can be redeemed for cash and the benefits may only be used in the way described in these rules.
 
12.12. Members may not transfer membership rights or rights to benefits or points to another person.
 
12.13. Multiply members may not use Multiply membership as security for any debt.
 
12.14. A purchase from any Multiply online partner available on the Multiply website is intended for personal use only. Goods purchased with the intention of conducting any form of commercial enterprise are strictly prohibited. Multiply reserves the right to cancel a member’s membership when such behavior is conducted.

 

 
13. Cashbacks
 
13.1. Multiply will give you a percentage of your spend back in cash when you shop at one of our cashback partners, once your purchase has been confirmed. 
 
13.2. Cashbacks will be transferred into your Multiply Money savings wallet which enables you to save and earn interest.  
 
13.3. To use your cashbacks, you must transfer them to your Multiply Money payment wallet, using the Multiply Money app or by logging into multiply.co.za.
 
13.4. You will get cashbacks on your total qualifying spend at Pick n Pay by swiping your Multiply card when you buy qualifying products in store. 
 
13.5. At Pick n Pay, items excluded from earning cashbacks from Multiply include, but are not limited to, as prohibited by legislation: 
13.5.1. fuel
13.5.2. tobacco and tobacco-related products
13.5.3. Pick n Pay gift cards and top-ups
13.5.4. Wallet top-ups
13.5.5. money transfers
13.5.6. prescription medicine and pharmaceutical goods
13.5.7. baby formula (0-36 months)
13.5.8. third party services and payments which include, but are not limited to electricity, USA Visa tokens, Axxess ADSL tokens, Hollard Insurance, U-Kash, SAA Cycle voucher, Austrian Visa tokens, Just Surf, Retail Bonds, all lottery tickets, transactions through SAA, bus tickets, MultiChoice, traffic fines, Splashout Mall Cards and pension payments. 
 
13.6. You will get cashbacks on your total qualifying spend at Dis-Chem by swiping your Multiply/Dis-Chem co-branded card when you buy qualifying products in store.
 
13.7. At Dis-Chem, items excluded from earning cashbacks include, but are not limited to, as prohibited by legislation: 
13.7.1. prescription medicine and pharmaceutical goods
13.7.2. plastic bags
13.7.3. redemption of vouchers or gift cards or loyalty cards
13.7.4. baby formula (0-36 months)
 
13.8. You can now choose to either get cashbacks or a discount when you make a purchase at the Multiply online shop.
 
13.9. If any of our cashback partners make changes to the list of excluded items, these changes will automatically form part of the items that do not qualify for cashbacks. 
 
13.10. The percentage of cashbacks you earn depends on your Multiply status and on the cashback partner. Visit multiply.co.za for more information on the cashbacks you can earn at each partner. 
 
13.11. Spend limits for the Multiply online shop will apply. Visit the Multiply online shop spend limit rules for more information.
 
13.12. A combined spend limit for Pick n Pay and Dis-Chem will apply. Visit the Pick n Pay or       Dis-Chem Multiply partner pages for more information.
 
13.13. Cashbacks earned for your qualifying purchases at Dis-Chem and Pick n Pay will be transferred into your Multiply Money savings wallet within 7 days of your purchase.
 
13.14. Cashbacks earned on the Multiply online shop will be transferred into your Multiply Money savings wallet within 24 hours of your purchase.
 
13.15. If you return a purchase from the Multiply online shop that earned cashbacks, we will refund you the amount of the item in Multiply online shop credit minus the cashbacks you earned. The cashbacks you earned will remain in your Multiply Money savings wallet.
 
13.16. If you return a purchase that earned cashbacks from a retail store, we reserve the right to deduct the cashbacks you earned on that purchase from your Multiply Money savings wallet.
 
13.17. You can view the cashbacks you have earned on your monthly Multiply Money statement or contact Multiply Money on 086 011 1183 or multiplymoney@multiply.co.za.
 
13.18. If your Multiply Money benefit has not yet been created, you must immediately contact the Multiply Money contact centre on 086 011 1183 or multiplymoney@multiply.co.za so that your Multiply Money savings wallet can be created and cashbacks can be allocated to you.
 
13.19. If your Multiply membership is for whatever reason suspended or cancelled, cashbacks will not be allocated to you.
 
13.20. Multiply reserves the right to at any time exempt certain products from earning cashbacks at our sole discretion.

 

 
 
14. Multiply Money
 
14.1. Definitions
14.1.1. In these terms and conditions, unless the context requires otherwise:
14.1.2. “Card” means the Multiply Visa® Card.
14.1.3. “Cashbacks” means a percentage of your spend paid back to you in cash once your purchase is confirmed at a participating cashback partner. 
14.1.4. “HealthSaver account” means the HealthSaver account administered by MMI.
14.1.5. “Merchant” means the person or entity from whom goods are purchased and/or services obtained through the use of the Card.
14.1.6. ”Mobile Payments” means payment services operated under financial regulation and performed from a mobile device, in this instance using wiCode.
14.1.7. “MMI Multiply” means MMI Multiply (Pty) Ltd which manages and operates the Multiply programme.
14.1.8. “Multiply” means an incentivised wellness solution that rewards and encourages its members to become holistically well, by arranging access to various wellness and leisure facilities and services; and offering members discounts at various Multiply partners.
14.1.9. “Multiply Money App” means the mobile application created specifically for smartphones for you to engage with Multiply Money and the related products and services. 
14.1.10. “Multiply.co.za” means the Multiply website with logon capability for you to engage with Multiply and its related products and services. 
14.1.11. “Multiply Money” means a facility made up of a savings wallet and a payment wallet. 
14.1.12. “Multiply Online Shop” - an online platform that rewards Multiply members by providing discounts when purchasing goods or services from various Multiply Partners.
14.1.13. Multiply member means a person who is a member of Multiply.  
14.1.14. “Parties” means you and MMI Multiply.
14.1.15. “payment wallet” means a facility within Multiply Money from which you can make payments.
14.1.16. “savings wallet” means a facility within Multiply Money where you can accumulate cashbacks and earn interest.. 
14.1.17. “Send Money” means a payment from one Multiply Money payment wallet to another Multiply Money payment wallet.
14.1.18. “We” or “Us” means MMI Multiply. 
14.1.19. “wiCode and QR code” means a token based mobile transaction which functions like a One-Time-PIN (OTP).
14.1.20. ”wiGroup” means wiGroup PTY Limited, Reg.No.2007/027199/07, Registered address : Unit 202, Block 2, Northgate Park, Section Street, 7405, South Africa/ Switchboard : +27 (21)4489974  
14.1.21. “You” or “Your” means you the Multiply member.
 
14.2. General
14.2.1. You can use the Multiply Money facility to receive cashbacks from qualifying Multiply partners and to spend these cashbacks. 
14.2.2. All cashbacks will be transferred into your Multiply Money savings wallet. To use your cashbacks, you must transfer them to your Multiply Money payment wallet.  You can transfer cashbacks from the savings wallet to the payment wallet using the Multiply Money app or by logging into multiply.co.za.
14.2.3. Cashbacks in your savings wallet will earn interest.  
14.2.4. If you link a Card to your Multiply Money payment wallet, you will be able to pay for your purchases at Visa®-approved merchants in South Africa only. 
14.2.5. If your Card is linked to Multiply Money and a HealthSaver account then all purchases at veterinarians, pharmacies and healthcare providers will automatically be deducted from the HealthSaver account. If there are insufficient funds in the HealthSaver account, the transaction will be declined.  
14.2.6. All other purchases will be deducted from your payment wallet. If there are insufficient funds in the payment wallet, the transaction will be declined.
14.2.7. With the Multiply Money app, you can pay for your purchases with the cashbacks in your Multiply Money payment wallet at qualifying Merchants in South Africa by using Mobile Payments. Click here  for a for a qualifying Mobile Payment merchants.
14.2.8. You can also transfer your cashbacks to other Multiply Money users using the Send Money option on the Multiply Money app. 
14.2.9. multiplyonlineshop.co.za allows you to pay for your purchases with the cashbacks in your Multiply Money payment wallet on the Multiply Online Shop.
 
14.3. Issue and use of Multiply Money 
14.3.1. To use Multiply Money you must be a Multiply member.
14.3.2. Multiply Money will automatically be created for you as part of your Multiply membership so that you can receive your cashbacks. 
14.3.3. We will need to verify your identity and cellphone number as per FICA (“Financial Intelligence Centre Act”) requirements before we issue Multiply Money and transfer cashbacks into your savings wallet.
14.3.4. We will need to verify your identity and residential address before we issue a Card to you and may decline to issue, link or activate a Card if you don’t qualify for a Card or cannot give us satisfactory proof of your identity and residential address as per FICA requirements. The Terms and Conditions of the Card are available at multiply.co.za/visacard.
14.3.5. As soon as the first cashback is transferred into your savings wallet, you are deemed to have read and understood the Terms and Conditions of Use of Multiply Money and consider yourself bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use.
14.3.6. The cashbacks may only be used in the Republic of South Africa and may only be accessed by moving the cashbacks to the payment wallet.
14.3.7. The payment wallet is only set up for Card payments, Mobile Payments and Multiply online shop payments. You can also Send Money from your payment wallet to another Multiply Money payment wallet. You must know the cell phone number of the person who you are sending the money to. 
14.3.8. You need to have cashbacks available in the payment wallet for a transaction to be authorized. A minimum balance needs to be available in the savings wallet which may change from time to time, this will automatically be reserved for you. The available balance in your payment wallet does not include the cashbacks available in your savings wallet. 
14.3.9. Multiply will authorize a transaction at their sole discretion. We will not be legally liable if for whatever reason we do not authorize a transaction.
14.3.10. We will not be liable if a Merchant refuses to accept your payment.
14.3.11. The returns policy of the particular Merchant will apply to any goods purchased with the Card and by means of a Mobile Payment.  Cash refunds will generally not be made in lieu of a return and any dispute in this regard should be taken up with the Merchant directly.
14.3.12. We will not be responsible for the return or exchange of any goods and/or services purchased with the Card or Mobile Payment to any Merchant. At the time of return or exchange, you should present the merchandise and proof of the Card or Mobile Payment to the Merchant. Any dispute in this regard should be taken up with the Merchant directly.
14.3.13. Your cashbacks cannot be used to withdraw cash at a bank, ATM or Merchant.
14.3.14. If you breach these terms and conditions at any time, all further transactions will be declined and your Multiply Money facility may be cancelled.
 
14.4. Errors on payments 
14.4.1. It is your responsibility to ensure that the payment instructions (including but not limited to beneficiary details) are correct, as we will not be responsible for any loss or damage because of errors you make when you create or send a Multiply Money payment instruction including a Send Money instruction.
14.4.2. Multiply does not check that the cellphone number or identity of the beneficiary is correct. 
 
14.5. Cancelling or reversing transactions 
14.5.1. Instructions cannot be reversed or cancelled once you submit them.
14.5.2. Multiply will not reverse any payment instruction after it has been processed. 
14.5.3. Multiply will not accept an instruction to stop the payment of a valid instruction to pay.  
 
14.6. Disbursements into Multiply Money
14.6.1. Cashbacks will automatically be paid into the savings wallet. Multiply Money cannot accept any cash deposits from any third parties. 
14.6.2. If an amount is incorrectly or in error deposited into your Multiply Money facility, you give MMI permission to reverse that amount from your Multiply Money facility.
 
14.7. Interest you may earn 
14.7.1. You will earn a flat interest rate on all cashbacks in your savings wallet. 
14.7.2. All interest rates are expressed as a percentage per annum. Multiply calculates interest daily and pays interest monthly on your savings wallet daily balance.
14.7.3. MMI Multiply is entitled to determine at its discretion the interest rate applicable and can change the interest rate at any time without giving you prior notice.  
14.7.4. No interest is earned on cashbacks in your payment wallet. 
 
14.8. Withholding tax on interest
14.8.1. You are responsible to promptly inform us in writing if you are a tax resident anywhere outside of the Republic of South Africa. 
14.8.2. If you are required to pay tax outside of South Africa and do inform us, we are legally obligated to withhold tax at the current rate of 15% on the interest you have earned on the balances in your savings wallet to pay over to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) on a monthly basis.
 
14.9. Income tax certificates 
14.9.1. We will issue an income tax certificate (IT3b certificate) at the end of each financial year. The IT3b will apply to all cashbacks in your savings wallet.
14.9.2. The IT3b certificate indicates the amount of interest paid out to you in a particular financial year. 
14.9.3. IT3b certificates are issued only where a minimum amount of interest has been earned as prescribed by SARS from time to time.  
 
14.10. Unauthorised use 
14.10.1. You are the only person who may use your Multiply Money facility and you cannot transfer it to any other person or authorise any other person to use it.
14.10.2. You are responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of Multiply Money.
14.10.3. Mobile Payments using wiCodes and QR codes are valid for 15 minutes and are not PIN or identity driven. This means that these codes are treated as cash payments. We will not be held liable for any negligence or mismanagement of your Mobile Payments nor will we reverse these transactions.
14.10.4. You agree to notify Multiply immediately if the Card linked to Multiply Money is stolen or lost, or if you suspect that the Card may have been fraudulently accessed or used, failing which you agree that you will accept responsibility for any losses incurred resulting from the use of the Card and/or Multiply Money by any unauthorized person.
14.10.5. You agree to notify Multiply immediately if your Multiply Money app is compromised, or if you suspect that your profile may have been fraudulently accessed or used, failing which you agree that you will accept responsibility for any losses incurred resulting from the use of Multiply Money by any unauthorized person.
14.10.6. Once you have notified us in terms of clauses 14.10.4 and 14.10.5 above, we will deactivate the Card and/or Multiply Money app profile as soon as reasonably possible, but you agree to accept responsibility for all payments made from Multiply Money before such notification is given to us.
14.10.7. You indemnify MMI Multiply and accept full liability for all specific and related losses as a result of any fraudulent activity if you refuse or decline a request by Multiply to cancel or remove a Card and/or Multiply Money app profile linked to your Multiply Money facility.
 
14.11. Charges and Fees
14.11.1. No monthly administration fees for Multiply Money will be charged.
14.11.2. We may charge other fees which may be linked to Card activity.
14.11.3. All transaction and Card related fees excluding the monthly administration fee (if applicable) will be debited against your payment wallet balance if you have linked the Card to your Multiply Money facility. Visit multiply.co.za/visacard for more information on fees and charges applicable to the Card.
14.11.4. If there is an outstanding balance linked to your payment wallet at the end of the month we reserve the right to settle the outstanding amount against the cashbacks in your savings wallet. 
14.11.5. MMI Multiply can immediately demand repayment from you for any outstanding balance linked to your payment wallet. If you do not settle the amount when we demand payment you agree that we can charge you default interest as allowed by law.
14.11.6. Fees and charges are usually reviewed annually, but may be reviewed at any time at our discretion, in which event you will get 30 days’ written notice before such change comes into effect.
14.11.7. If you dispute any fee or charge, we will debit your payment wallet with such a fee or charge until such time as the dispute has been resolved. 
14.11.8. You accept that you will be responsible for and will pay the fees and charges as per these terms and conditions. 
14.11.9. You can also get a copy of all your fees and charges from the Multiply Money contact centre by calling 086 011 1183 or emailing multiplymoney@multiply.co.za.
 
14.12. Suspension of Multiply Money
14.12.1. We may suspend your Multiply Money facility when there is:
14.12.1.1. a suspicious transaction;
14.12.1.2. reported fraud; 
14.12.1.3. instruction from a recognized authority ; or 
14.12.1.4. a suspended or terminated Multiply membership. 
14.12.1.5. an outstanding balance and you have ignored our request to pay;
14.12.2. You agree that MMI Multiply shall not be held liable whatsoever for any consequences following the suspension of your Multiply Money facility.
 
14.13. Miscellaneous
14.13.1. You may not vary these terms and conditions. 
14.13.2. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
14.13.3. MMI Multiply reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and the latest version will be available by following the Multiply Money link on the Multiply website at multiply.co.za/multiplymoney.
14.13.4. The terms and conditions of the Multiply Visa® Card can be found at multiply.co.za/visacard.
14.13.5. Log into multiply.co.za/multiplymoney or contact the Multiply Money contact centre on 086 011 1183 to view your Multiply Money transactions, fees, charges.
 
14.14. Confidentiality
14.14.1. We will treat all your personal information (as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act) as private and confidential. Nothing about your personal information or Multiply Money facility will be disclosed to anyone unless:
14.14.1.1. We are legally compelled to do so;
14.14.1.2. It is required in terms of operating Multiply Money;
14.14.1.3. It is in the public interest to do so; and/or
14.14.1.4. The disclosure is made at your request, with your written consent.
14.14.2. You hereby agree that we may share your personal information with our third party service providers for the operation of Multiply Money.
 
14.15. Liability clause
14.15.1. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MMI Multiply, its employees, agents and representatives shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any liability, losses, damages and/or costs or expenses whether special, direct, indirect and/or of a consequential nature including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of business information, business interruption, death or personal injury caused by any nature whatsoever or arising out of the use of Multiply Money, the Card, Multiply Money App, Multiply online shop and other Multiply platforms, and you hereby indemnify MMI Multiply and MMI against any such liability.
 
14.16. Terminating Multiply Money 
14.16.1. MMI Multiply has the right to terminate your Multiply Money facility at any time after we give you reasonable notice of this or if we have other grounds to do so. 
14.16.2. When your Multiply membership is cancelled we may close your Multiply Money facility.
14.16.3. Upon termination, all cashbacks in the savings and payment wallets will be paid into a nominated bank account of your choice. 
14.16.4. You agree that we shall have no liability whatsoever in consequence of any such termination.
14.16.5. Even upon termination, MMI Multiply will be entitled to rely on the rights acquired under these terms and conditions before termination.

 

 
15. Termination of Multiply membership or benefits
 
15.1.     Multiply will cancel or suspend members’ membership with reasonable notice if:
15.1.1.  Members no longer qualify for a Multiply membership. (See clause 3: “Multiply Membership”);
15.1.2.  Members do not pay their full monthly membership fee to Multiply;
15.1.3.  Members breach any of the rules of the Multiply programme; and
15.1.4.  Multiply believes that members are using the benefits of the programme in an abusive and/or fraudulent manner;
15.2.     Members must inform Multiply if they are no longer a policyholder or member of a qualifying product to which the Multiply membership is linked. Members acknowledge and understand that having a qualifying product enables them to qualify for Multiply. Members further acknowledge that should they cancel their qualifying product, it is their responsibility to notify Multiply of this cancellation and to request cancellation of their Multiply membership.
15.3.     Main members may cancel their Multiply membership voluntarily.
15.4.     Members must give Multiply a 30 calendar days’ notice in writing by email or post; or telephonically by contacting the Multiply contact centre:

15.5.     If a member cancels their Multiply membership after a debit order, it will only be refunded if no benefits were used by such member in that month. 
15.6.     Members will not lose any benefits accumulated up to the date that their membership ends or is suspended.

 

16. Reinstatements
 
16.1. Members may reinstate their cancelled Multiply membership, if:
16.1.1. the reinstatement occurs within three months of the date of cancellation, and the member pay all outstanding fees that would have accrued during that cancelled period, or
16.1.2. the cancellation was due to the termination of a qualifying product, the member takes up a new qualifying product, and they apply for Multiply membership within three months.
 
16.2. If members do not reinstate their Multiply membership within three months of the date of cancellation, they may not join Multiply within the following three-month period (calculated from the date of cancellation).
 
16.3. The same rules apply for Multiply Provider, except the reinstatement period is 90 days.

 

 
17. Transferring between Multiply Plans
 
17.1. If a Multiply Provider member chooses to cancel their Multiply Provider policy and buy Multiply Premier, the status that the member attains on Multiply Premier is based on the activities that the member performed on Multiply Provider in that calendar year. For any activities that the member completed while on Multiply Provider, Multiply Premier points will be allocated for those activities. The status is then based on the total number of points that the member earns when converting from Multiply Provider points to Multiply Premier points.
 
17.2. If a Multiply Premier member chooses to cancel their Multiply Premier policy and buy Multiply Provider, the level that the member attains on Multiply Provider is based on the activities that the member performed on Multiply Premier in that calendar year. For any activities that the member completed while on Multiply Premier, Multiply Provider points will be allocated for those activities. The level is then based on the total number of points that the member earns when converting from Multiply Premier points to Multiply Provider points.
 
17.3. The above rules are applicable for transfer at any time during the calendar year period.
 
17.4. Only a mapping of engagement activities will contribute to determining the member’s new status or level.
 
Example 1
At the end of a calendar year (31 December), a Multiply Premier member decides to transfer to Multiply Provider. This member will start on Multiply Provider on the 1st of January the next calendar year with 0 points and on Level 1. The reason for this is that the member has not completed any activities during the current calendar year.
 
Example 2
A Multiply Premier member decides to transfer to Multiply Provider at any point in time during the calendar year. The member’s activities performed up to date of transfer (during the calendar year) will be mapped and converted to Multiply Provider points. The converted points will then determine the Multiply Provider level. 
 
 
 
 
18. Implications of Limits
 
18.1. When a member transfers between plans, the usage on partner benefits will be reset. This includes the limits set within the Multiply Travel benefits.
 
Example
A Multiply Provider member currently has a booking limit of 6 per calendar year. Half-way through the year, the member decides to transfer to Multiply Premier but the member has already used 4 of the bookings on Multiply Provider. When the member transfers to Multiply Premier, the booking limit will be reset and the member will have 12 bookings available for the rest of the calendar year.

 

 
19. Transfer period
19.1. Members can transfer between Multiply plans at any time during the year based on the following rules:
19.1.1. If a member is on a specific Multiply plan for the first time (during the member’s lifetime with Multiply), the member can move to another Multiply immediately i.e. there is no waiting period.
19.1.2. If a member moves back to a Multiply plan that they were previously on (during the member’s lifetime with Multiply), the member has to wait 3 months before moving from that plan. 
19.1.3. This rule is applicable for moving between all the Multiply plans i.e. Multiply Starter, Multiply Provider and Multiply Premier. 
 
Example
A new member joins Multiply Provider and decides to move to Multiply Premier after one month. Following the move to Multiply Premier, the member may have an affordability issue and moves back to Provider. The member needs to wait at least 3 months before they can move to Multiply Premier again.
 

 

20. Multiply is not responsible for loss
 
20.1. Information contained on service partners websites is  made available without any express or implied representation or warranty whatsoever, and Momentum disclaims liability for any expense incurred, or any damage or loss sustained which may or could arise from direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages and which may be attributable, directly or indirectly to the use of or reliance upon any information, links or services provided through the Momentum website and emanating from either contract, delict, taxation or statute. 
 
20.2. Multiply will take reasonable care to prevent loss or damage to members. Momentum will, however, except in the case of death and personal injury of a member, not be liable for any loss or damage related to a member’s use of the Multiply programme and the use of any goods or services provided through the Multiply programme.
 
20.3. The member, partner and dependents indemnify Momentum and its subsidiaries, holding company/companies, associated retirement funds, agents and authorized representatives against any loss suffered, including but not limited to a loss of money, arising from membership and participation in the Multiply programme.
 
20.4. Members are fully responsible for any tax implications arising from or associated with any discounts, rewards, benefits received, accumulated or spent due to the member being a member of, or participating in, the Multiply Programme.
 
20.5. Members are advised to obtain their own tax advice regarding any benefit they may receive in terms of these rules. Momentum will not be responsible for any tax consequences that may arise.
 
 
 
21. Legal matters
 
21.1. Changes to the rules
21.1.1. Momentum may, at its sole discretion and at any time, amend these rules and any business rules associated with them in any way.
21.1.2. These amendments may include, but are not  limited to, changes to the amounts and percentages referred to in these rules, as well as changes to the Multiply programme. 
21.1.3. Multiply will give members reasonable notice of any changes in the programme by publishing the details of the changes on Momentum’s website or disclosing the information in any other way that Multiply will determine at their discretion.
21.1.4. Momentum reserves the right to adjust benefits if applicable legislation impacts on the benefits Multiply offers. 
 
21.2. No legal relationship
21.2.1. Members have no legal relationship with Momentum or the Multiply programme, other than being bound by these rules and consequently, when entitled to do so, to receive any benefits they may be entitled to.
 
21.3. Enforcing the rules
21.3.1. If Multiply fails to enforce any of these rules, it does not mean that Multiply may in future not enforce them.
21.3.2. If one or more of these rules is invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, it has no impact on the validity of the other rules, which will stay valid.
 
 
22. How to report a complaint and/or query
 
22.1. If members have a complaint and/or query about their Multiply policy, products, benefits, rewards, and/or services, Multiply recommends that members first contact their financial adviser.
22.2. Members can also contact the Multiply client services department directly to lodge a complaint with one of the service consultants.
22.3. If the member is not satisfied with the response they receive from the Multiply service consultant, they can escalate their complaint to a service manager. The service manager will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 24 hours.
22.4. The service manager will work together with Multiply’s internal complaints department to review the complaint.
22.5. The members will then receive a response from the service manager, within 2 working days of him acknowledging receipt of the complaint or query.
22.6. The service manager will give a detailed explanation, in his response, about the outcome or resolution of the complaint.
22.7. The Multiply contact centre handles all Multiply related complaints, queries and enquiries

23. Personal information
 
23.1. Momentum undertakes to protect your privacy and to keep your personal information confidential.
23.2. By participating in the Multiply programme you consent that Momentum may   share and obtain personal information of you and your dependents with and from its Service  partners for purposes of  allocating physical health and wellness points or other benefits, as per your  membership status.
23.3. Apart from you giving us personal information about you and your dependents, Momentum may also obtain information from other sources such as healthcare providers for purposes of allocating physical health and wellness points or other benefits as per your membership status. 
23.4. The contracted service partners are bound to treat your personal information confidential and to process it for lawful purposes.
23.5. Multiply will not share your information with any third parties without your permission for any other reason than necessary to carry out the actions for performance of your membership contract.  If you are a member of a Group business, we may share your information relating to your membership with your employer. This will be limited to information required for ongoing service of your membership but will not include any health information unless you have given us permission to do so. 
23.6. Momentum may use your information for historical, statistical and research purposes. This will be conducted on an anonymous basis, which means your personal data is not linked to your name or membership.
23.7. You have a right to access, update or correct your personal information. 
23.8. You have a right to object at any time to the processing of your or your dependents’ personal information.
23.9. The supply of personal information by you is done voluntarily and failure to do so may result in their membership application not being successful.
23.10. Multiply may share your information with other businesses in MMI for purposes of administration of you and your dependent’s products or benefits.
23.11. You have a right to object with the sharing of your personal information within Momentum except if the disclosure is necessary for the administration of the product or services provided or is required in terms of legislation. 
23.12. Momentum may use your contact information to notify you of new products or development on products you already have with us. If you do not want to receive this kind of communication from us you have the right to object to direct marketing or non-compulsory newsletters at new business stage and on each and every occasion of receiving a communication of this nature. 
23.13. Your financial adviser may also ask us to share your and/or your dependents’ personal information with them. We will only share information that enables them to give you sound advice. We will not share any information about you or your dependents’ medical conditions unless you have given us your permission to do so. 

 

 
24. Physical addresses for legal notices
 
24.1. Your physical address for purposes of legal proceedings and giving or sending any notice will be the address as supplied by you on the Multiply application form specified as your “domicilium citandi et executandi”.
24.2. It is your responsibility to notify Momentum in writing if the address changes.

  • Members must visit cmaths.co.za to find a teacher (Sensei) closest to them by clicking on the “Contact Us” or the “Enroll your Child” button. 
  • Members must call the sensei on the listed number and make a booking for the child or if they choose the enroll option, a sensei will contact them and advise on what the next steps are. 
  • Download and complete the registration form available on the CMATHS website and give it to the sensei on the first appointment.
  • At the first lesson, members will need to pay an up-front fee (after the Multiply discount) and their child can start the course.
  • CMATHS will validate the member’s Multiply membership and if their child is a member on their Multiply contract. Member must present their ID number or Multiply client number to the sensei when making payment. 
  • The monthly fees are paid to the sensei at the end of each month. 
  • If the member’s child is ready for a new Soroban or books, then the sensei will inform the member and invoice them accordingly.

4. Benefit rules:

  • An ADT agent will visit the member’s place of residence, verify that the member’s Multiply membership details in person and provide a quotation as well as the applicable Multiply member discount.
  • If the quotation is accepted, members will then pay the reduced installation cost directly to ADT, for the required installation.

• Hotel accommodation booked through Multiply is for leisure purposes only.
• Members may not use this benefit for more than 40 days per family member in one calendar year (January to December). This includes bookings at Protea Hotels. 
• Room bookings must be for a minimum of three consecutive nights, or two consecutive nights, which include a Saturday night.
• Discounts apply to the best room rate available at the time members make a booking. The rate will change depending on the season. Discounts do not apply to any specials or promotional rates.

5. How to use this benefit – booking a rental car:

 

• There are two ways to book your discounted car rental:

6. When you collect your car:

7. Authorisation deposit:

  • An authorisation deposit is the amount that Avis will “hold” on the credit card when they provide members with a specific vehicle for rental. For more information, visit www.avis.co.za. The authorisation deposit money is only reserved and not actually “taken” from the credit card account. However, this “hold” does reduce the amount of funds available to the credit card holder.
  • Once the vehicle is returned and the rental is invoiced, Avis will debit the credit card for the additional charges only (e.g. any petrol fees or other amounts payable other than the actual rental, which is pre-paid via Multiply). They will then cancel the authorisation deposit
  • It takes about five days for the funds to reflect as available in the credit card holder’s account. 
  • For weekend rentals, Avis takes a credit card authorisation for the estimated cost of the rental, plus the following additional weekend authorisation*: 
    • Inland locations –R5 000, and
    • Coastal locations –R2 000.

The additional weekend authorisation will be waived on presentation of a valid airline boarding pass. This excludes Kaiser Matanzima Airport in Mthatha.

 

8. Paying for the rental vehicle:

  • Members can only pay with a valid credit card. Avis accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club.
  • Members must have enough credit on your credit card for the authorisation deposit amount (visit www.avis.co.za for more information).

2. More about the fitness assessment
 
• It is a 20-minute one-on-one assessment, performed with a registered bio that belongs to the BASA Network. It involves:
– a fitness test to determine cardiovascular fitness and flexibility
– a lung capacity test
– an evaluation of your body composition
 
After the assessment members will receive comprehensive feedback on the different areas as well as an overall fitness level (between 1-5). This result is valid for a period of 6 months. 
 
From this fitness assessment members can then earn points on Multiply Premier and Multiply provider, as well as cashbacks and discounts from Momentum products, while the fitness assessment is still valid.
 
Only a Multiply Fitness Assessment will be accepted and applied for points and Momentum product rewards.
 
3. How this benefit works
 
• Members will only pay R192 for a Multiply fitness assessment at any bio licensed to perform the Multiply fitness assessment. • The results for all race events members enter using Entrytime/Enteronline will be sent through to Multiply and will automatically allocate points.
• If members enter other race events, they can still manually claim points for successfully completing these events by using Entrytime/Enteronline.  To do this, members must:
– visit www.entrytime.com, and click on the “my profile” tab. This will redirect members to a Multiply web page. Members will need to login here before they click on the “Submit new claim” button in order to claim their points.

• Find the list of Multiply affiliated gyms on the FitVault app.

• Click “LOG A VISIT” on the FitVault app and scan the QR code on the FitVault poster in your gym.

The Healthy Heart Score gives you an indication of how healthy a member’s heart is. Results from a completed Health Assessment are used to calculate a score to identify which category the heart health falls in, either: green, amber or red. This indicates if the member is currently causing progressive harm that could result in  cardiovascular  disease (CVD).

This information can be used to help members take better care of their heart health.

1. Who may use this benefit?

  • A Healthy Heart Score (HHS) will be calculated for all Multiply Premier, Multiply Provider and Multiply Starter members.


2. How this benefit works:

  • A set of components and measurements are required to calculate a HHS for a member. These include; blood pressure, glucose or HbA1c, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol (optional), body fat percentage together with smoker’s status.
  • Points are awarded for each component/measurement.
  • The points are then added together to get a final score, which will place a member into either a green, amber or red category.
  • Results:
    • Red – You need to take strong action to reduce your CVD risk factors. 
    • Amber – You should take action to reduce your CVD risk factors. 
    • Green – All your CVD risk factors are under control for now.


3. Product benefits:

5. Alterations

FLEXI tickets 24 hours or more before the scheduled departure time, with a 15% cancellation fee; and
FULL FLEXI tickets 12 hours or more before the scheduled departure time, with a 10% cancellation fee.

Child dependants:

  • Members can also check in golf clubs with their luggage at a fee per sector. The weight allowance for the golf clubs is included in the checked-in luggage weight allowance. If the total checked-in weight exceeds 20kg, additional fees per kilogram will be charged.

 

6. Paying for flights:

  • Members can pay for travel bookings on www.flymango.com by using Mango’s various flexible payment options available to Multiply members.
     

7. Changing or cancelling your booking:

  • If members change their booking they will be liable for paying an administration fee. 
  • Mango’s standard rules for changes apply to Multiply bookings. Members do not get a discount on the cost charged for changing their flights.
  • If the price of the new flight is higher than the original flight, members will have to pay the difference. If the price of the new flight is lower than the original flight, members  will lose the difference.
  • Members are allowed to cancel flights, but Multiply will not refund the member , unless for reasons related to hospitalisation or death (subject to proof). If members cancel for other reasons, they will have to use their ticket on another date. Please note that additional costs could be involved.
  • Reservation changes may be made up to 2 hours before departure of the booked flight.
  • Changes may be made on the Mango website or through the Multiply travel Desk. A relevant administration fee (as decided by us from time to time) per transaction, plus the difference in fare, if applicable, will be charged per member . The above is also applicable to name changes.
  • Multiply Members are not allowed to transfer to Non-Multiply Members.
     

8. Cancellation, Rerouting, Delays, and Denied Boarding:

  • Mango will take all necessary and reasonable measures to avoid delay in carrying you and your Baggage. In the exercise of these measures and in order to prevent a flight cancellation, in exceptional circumstances Mango may arrange for a flight to be operated on our behalf by an alternative carrier and/or aircraft. 
  • If Mango are unable to provide previously confirmed space, it  shall provide compensation to those members  denied boarding in accordance with applicable law and our denied boarding compensation policy.
  • Where a flight is cancelled due to reasons caused by weather conditions, air traffic control, technical, industrial unrest or an Act of God, Mango will, at your election:
    • Refund all monies received in respect of the confirmed reservation, or Place the member on the next flight, subject to seat availability.
    • Mango does not accept any further liability whatsoever for cancelled flights.
       

9. Refunds and Credit Vouchers:

  • After confirmation of a reservation, no refunds or credit voucher will be granted under and circumstances, apart from the following:
    • If a flight is cancelled by us;
    • If we are unable to honour the Guest’s reservation resulting in the Guest being denied boarding;
    • Or as otherwise provided for in these Conditions of Carriage.
    • Any refunds will be made either to the Guest named in the Ticket or to the person who has paid for the Ticket, upon presentation of satisfactory proof of such payment, subject to the deduction of a reasonable administration fee.
    • Refunds (and/or credit vouchers referred to below) will not be granted where a Guest fails to check in within the applicable Check-in Deadline or fails to board the aircraft.
    • A credit voucher issued by MANGO will be valid for a period of three (3) months from the date on the credit voucher. A credit voucher may only be used on MANGO flights by the Guest named on it during the validity period. Any difference between the credit voucher value and the fare for the new booking must be paid by the Guest.
    • In the event of death or hospitalization a refund maybe issued by Mango is the necessary documentation is submitted as proof. Please call the Multiply Travel Desk on 0861 100 155 for assistance as well.

 

10. General Multiply travel rules:

  • Multiply will always do their best to secure the best available rate for members at any given time. However, some of our travel partners may have specials that they run from time to time, which are outside Multiply’s scope and control.
  • Members will only qualify for the Multiply discount structure that is based on the service provider’s standard retail rate and not on the provider’s special rate or the travel partner’s special web fare rate.
  • For any combination booking (flights and/or accommodation and/or car hire), a three-day or 14-day advance notice period will apply, depending on the nature of the booking. This can only be facilitated via the Multiply Travel Desk.
  • The Multiply fares quoted exclude airport taxes, tourism levies, fuel levies, courier costs and any other surcharges.
  • Bookings are non-refundable and Multiply will not accept any name changes. Multiply will allow changes to future-dated flight bookings for Mango Airlines, but it is subject to additional costs and penalties as applied by Mango

If you use Multiply Money, you must carefully read all these terms and conditions together with the Multiply programme rules as Multiply Money is a benefit available to Multiply members and their partners, with the exception of United States citizens. These terms and conditions contain important information about yours and MMI Multiply’s rights and duties to each other. You must contact MMI Multiply if you don’t understand any part of the terms and conditions. 
 
1. DEFINITIONS
 
In these terms and conditions, unless the context requires otherwise:
1.1. “Card” means the Multiply Visa® Card.
1.2. “Cashbacks” means a percentage of your spend paid back to you in cash once your purchase is confirmed at a participating cashback partner. 
1.3. “HealthSaver account” means the HealthSaver account administered by MMI.
1.4. “Merchant” means the person or entity from whom goods are purchased and/or services obtained through the use of the Card.
1.5. ”Mobile Payments” means payment services operated under financial regulation and performed from a mobile device, in this instance using wiCode.
1.6. “MMI Multiply” means MMI Multiply (Pty) Ltd which manages and operates the Multiply programme.
1.7. “Multiply” means an incentivised wellness solution that rewards and encourages its members to become holistically well, by arranging access to various wellness and leisure facilities and services; and offering members discounts at various Multiply partners.
1.8. “Multiply Money App” means the mobile application created specifically for smartphones for you to engage with Multiply Money and the related products and services. 
1.9. “Multiply.co.za” means the Multiply website with logon capability for you to engage with Multiply and its related products and services. 
1.10. “Multiply Money” means a facility made up of a savings wallet and a payment wallet. 
1.11. “Multiply Online Shop” - an online platform that rewards Multiply members by providing discounts when purchasing goods or services from various Multiply Partners.
1.12. Multiply member means a person who is a member of Multiply.  
1.13. “Parties” means you and MMI Multiply.
1.14. “payment wallet” means a facility within Multiply Money from which you can make payments.
1.15. “savings wallet” means a facility within Multiply Money where you can accumulate cashbacks and earn interest.. 
1.16. “Send Money” means a payment from one Multiply Money payment wallet to another Multiply Money payment wallet.
1.17. “We” or “Us” means MMI Multiply. 
1.18. “wiCode and QR code” means a token based mobile transaction which functions like a One-Time-PIN (OTP).

1.20. “You” or “Your” means you the Multiply member.
 
2. GENERAL
 
2.1. You can use the Multiply Money facility to receive cashbacks from qualifying Multiply partners and to spend these cashbacks. 
2.2. All cashbacks will be transferred into your Multiply Money savings wallet. To use your cashbacks, you must transfer them to your Multiply Money payment wallet.  You can transfer cashbacks from the savings wallet to the payment wallet using the Multiply Money app or by logging into multiply.co.za.
2.3. Cashbacks in your savings wallet will earn interest.  
2.4. If you link a Card to your Multiply Money payment wallet, you will be able to pay for your purchases at Visa®-approved merchants in South Africa only. 
2.5. If your Card is linked to Multiply Money and a HealthSaver account then all purchases at veterinarians, pharmacies and healthcare providers will automatically be deducted from the HealthSaver account. If there are insufficient funds in the HealthSaver account, the transaction will be declined.  
2.6. All other purchases will be deducted from your payment wallet. If there are insufficient funds in the payment wallet, the transaction will be declined.
2.7. With the Multiply Money app, you can pay for your purchases with the cashbacks in your Multiply Money payment wallet at qualifying Merchants in South Africa by using Mobile Payments. A list of qualifying Merchants is available on multiply.co.za.
2.8. You can also transfer your cashbacks to other Multiply Money users using the Send Money option on the Multiply Money app. 
2.9. You can pay for your purchases with the cashbacks in your Multiply Money payment wallet on the Multiply Online Shop.
 
3. ISSUE AND USE OF MULTIPLY MONEY 
 
3.1. To use Multiply Money you must be a Multiply member.
3.2. Multiply Money will automatically be created for you as part of your Multiply membership so that you can receive your cashbacks. 
3.3. We will need to verify your identity and cellphone number as per FICA (“Financial Intelligence Centre Act”) requirements before we issue Multiply Money and transfer cashbacks into your savings wallet.
3.4. We will need to verify your identity and residential address before we issue a Card to you and may decline to issue, link or activate a Card if you don’t qualify for a Card or cannot give us satisfactory proof of your identity and residential address as per FICA requirements. The Terms and Conditions of the Card are available at multiply.co.za/visacard.
3.5. As soon as the first cashback is transferred into your savings wallet, you are deemed to have read and understood the Terms and Conditions of Use of Multiply Money and consider yourself bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use.
3.6. The cashbacks may only be used in the Republic of South Africa and may only be accessed by moving the cashbacks to the payment wallet.
3.7. The payment wallet is only set up for Card payments, Mobile Payments and Multiply online shop payments. You can also Send Money from your payment wallet to another Multiply Money payment wallet. You must know the cell phone number of the person who you are sending the money to. 
3.8. You need to have cashbacks available in the payment wallet for a transaction to be authorized. A minimum balance needs to be available in the savings wallet which may change from time to time, this will automatically be reserved for you. The available balance in your payment wallet does not include the cashbacks available in your savings wallet. 
3.9. Multiply will authorize a transaction at their sole discretion. We will not be legally liable if for whatever reason we do not authorize a transaction.
3.10. We will not be liable if a Merchant refuses to accept your payment.
3.11. The returns policy of the particular Merchant will apply to any goods purchased with the Card and by means of a Mobile Payment. Cash refunds will generally not be made in lieu of a return and any dispute in this regard should be taken up with the Merchant directly.
3.12. We will not be responsible for the return or exchange of any goods and/or services purchased with the Card or Mobile Payment to any Merchant. At the time of return or exchange, you should present the merchandise and proof of the Card or Mobile Payment to the Merchant. Any dispute in this regard should be taken up with the Merchant directly.
3.13. Your cashbacks cannot be used to withdraw cash at a bank, ATM or Merchant.
3.14. If you breach these terms and conditions at any time, all further transactions will be declined and your Multiply Money facility may be cancelled.
 
4. ERRORS ON PAYMENTS 
 
4.1. It is your responsibility to ensure that the payment instructions (including but not limited to beneficiary details) are correct, as we will not be responsible for any loss or damage because of errors you make when you create or send a Multiply Money payment instruction including a Send Money instruction.
4.2. Multiply does not check that the cellphone number or identity of the beneficiary is correct. 
 
5. CANCELLING OR REVERSING TRANSACTIONS 
 
5.1. Instructions cannot be reversed or cancelled once you submit them.
5.2. Multiply will not reverse any payment instruction after it has been processed. 
5.3. Multiply will not accept an instruction to stop the payment of a valid instruction to pay.  
 
6. DISBURSEMENTS INTO MULTIPLY MONEY
 
6.1. Cashbacks will automatically be paid into the savings wallet. Multiply Money cannot accept any cash deposits from any third parties. 
6.2. If an amount is incorrectly or in error deposited into your Multiply Money facility, you give MMI permission to reverse that amount from your Multiply Money facility.
 
7. INTEREST YOU MAY EARN 
 
7.1. You will earn a flat interest rate on all cashbacks in your savings wallet. 
7.2. All interest rates are expressed as a percentage per annum. Multiply calculates interest daily and pays interest monthly on your savings wallet daily balance.
7.3. MMI Multiply is entitled to determine at its discretion the interest rate applicable and can change the interest rate at any time without giving you prior notice.  
7.4. No interest is earned on cashbacks in your payment wallet. 
 
7.5. Withholding tax on interest
7.5.1. You are responsible to promptly inform us in writing if you are a tax resident anywhere outside of the Republic of South Africa. 
7.5.2. If you are required to pay tax outside of South Africa and do inform us, we are legally obligated to withhold tax at the current rate of 15% on the interest you have earned on the balances in your savings wallet to pay over to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) on a monthly basis.
 
8. INCOME TAX CERTIFICATES 
 
8.1. We will issue an income tax certificate (IT3b certificate) at the end of each financial year. The IT3b will apply to all cashbacks in your savings wallet.
8.2. The IT3b certificate indicates the amount of interest paid out to you in a particular financial year. 
8.3. IT3b certificates are issued only where a minimum amount of interest has been earned as prescribed by SARS from time to time.  
 
9. UNAUTHORISED USE 
 
9.1. You are the only person who may use your Multiply Money facility and you cannot transfer it to any other person or authorise any other person to use it.
9.2. You are responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of Multiply Money.
9.3. Mobile Payments using wiCodes and QR codes are valid for 15 minutes and are not PIN or identity driven. This means that these codes are treated as cash payments. We will not be held liable for any negligence or mismanagement of your Mobile Payments nor will we reverse these transactions.
9.4. You agree to notify Multiply immediately if the Card linked to Multiply Money is stolen or lost, or if you suspect that the Card may have been fraudulently accessed or used, failing which you agree that you will accept responsibility for any losses incurred resulting from the use of the Card and/or Multiply Money by any unauthorized person.
9.5. You agree to notify Multiply immediately if your Multiply Money app is compromised, or if you suspect that your profile may have been fraudulently accessed or used, failing which you agree that you will accept responsibility for any losses incurred resulting from the use of Multiply Money by any unauthorized person.
9.6. Once you have notified us in terms of clauses 9.4 and 9.5 above, we will deactivate the Card and/or Multiply Money app profile as soon as reasonably possible, but you agree to accept responsibility for all payments made from Multiply Money before such notification is given to us.
9.7. You indemnify MMI Multiply and accept full liability for all specific and related losses as a result of any fraudulent activity if you refuse or decline a request by Multiply to cancel or remove a Card and/or Multiply Money app profile linked to your Multiply Money facility.
 
10. CHARGES AND FEES
 
10.1. No monthly administration fees for Multiply Money will be charged.
10.2. We may charge other fees which may be linked to Card activity.
10.3. All transaction and Card related fees excluding the monthly administration fee (if applicable) will be debited against your payment wallet balance if you have linked the Card to your Multiply Money facility. Visit multiply.co.za/visacard for more information on fees and charges applicable to the Card.
10.4. If there is an outstanding balance linked to your payment wallet at the end of the month we reserve the right to settle the outstanding amount against the cashbacks in your savings wallet. 
10.5. MMI Multiply can immediately demand repayment from you for any outstanding balance linked to your payment wallet. If you do not settle the amount when we demand payment you agree that we can charge you default interest as allowed by law.
10.6. Fees and charges are usually reviewed annually, but may be reviewed at any time at our discretion, in which event you will get 30 days’ written notice before such change comes into effect.
10.7. If you dispute any fee or charge, we will debit your payment wallet with such a fee or charge until such time as the dispute has been resolved. 
10.8. You accept that you will be responsible for and will pay the fees and charges as per these terms and conditions.

11. SUSPENSION OF MULTIPLY MONEY
 
11.1. We may suspend your Multiply Money facility when there is:
11.1.1. a suspicious transaction;
11.1.2. reported fraud; 
11.1.3. instruction from a recognized authority ; or 
11.1.4. a suspended or terminated Multiply membership. 
11.1.5. an outstanding balance and you have ignored our request to pay;
11.2. You agree that MMI Multiply shall not be held liable whatsoever for any consequences following the suspension of your Multiply Money facility.
 
12. MISCELLANEOUS
 
12.1. You may not vary these terms and conditions. 
12.2. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
12.3. MMI Multiply reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and the latest version will be available by following the Multiply Money link on the Multiply website at multiply.co.za/multiplymoney.
12.4. The terms and conditions of the Multiply Visa® Card can be found at multiply.co.za/visacard.
12.5. Log into multiply.co.za/multiplymoney or contact the Multiply Money contact centre on 086 011 1183 to view your Multiply Money transactions, fees, charges.
 
 
13. CONFIDENTIALITY
 
13.1. We will treat all your personal information (as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act) as private and confidential. Nothing about your personal information or Multiply Money facility will be disclosed to anyone unless:
13.1.1. We are legally compelled to do so;
13.1.2. It is required in terms of operating Multiply Money;
13.1.3. It is in the public interest to do so; and/or
13.1.4. The disclosure is made at your request, with your written consent.
13.2. You hereby agree that we may share your personal information with our third party service providers for the operation of Multiply Money.
 
14. LIABILITY CLAUSE
14.1. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MMI Multiply, its employees, agents and representatives shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any liability, losses, damages and/or costs or expenses whether special, direct, indirect and/or of a consequential nature including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of business information, business interruption, death or personal injury caused by any nature whatsoever or arising out of the use of Multiply Money, the Card, Multiply Money App, Multiply online shop and other Multiply platforms, and you hereby indemnify MMI Multiply and MMI against any such liability.
 
15. TERMINATING MULTIPLY MONEY 
 
15.1. MMI Multiply has the right to terminate your Multiply Money facility at any time after we give you reasonable notice of this or if we have other grounds to do so. 
15.2. When your Multiply membership is cancelled we may close your Multiply Money facility.
15.3. Upon termination, all cashbacks in the savings and payment wallets will be paid into a nominated bank account of your choice. 
15.4. You agree that we shall have no liability whatsoever in consequence of any such termination.
15.5. Even upon termination, MMI Multiply will be entitled to rely on the rights acquired under these terms and conditions before termination.

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Multiply Money Digital Services (“Services”), which are offered by MMI Multiply (Pty) Ltd (“Multiply”) and certain third-party service providers on Multiply’s behalf to you.
1.2 The Services allow you to:
1.2.1 transact and manage your Multiply Money facility;
1.2.2 manage your Multiply Visa® Card; and
1.3 You agree that these Terms and Conditions govern your relationship with Multiply in respect of your access to and use of the Services via the System. Only if you have successfully completed the registration process detailed in clause 3.3 below, will you be eligible to access the Services.
1.4 No person under the age of 18 (eighteen) years is permitted to register for, access and use the Services.
1.5 Nothing in this agreement will be interpreted to deny consumers of any of the rights given to them under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

 

2. Protection of your Personal Information
2.1 “Personal Information” means information relating to you, including but not limited to information relating to:
  • race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, nationality, ethnic or social origin, colour, age, physical or mental health, well-being, disability, religion, conscience, belief, cultural affiliation, language and birth;
  • education, medical, financial, criminal or employment history;
  • any identifying number, account or client number, password, pin code, symbol, e-mail address, domain name or IP address, mobile device identifier, physical address, cellular phone number, telephone number or other particular assignment;
  • blood type, fingerprint or any other biometric information;
  • personal opinions, views or preferences;
  • correspondence that is implicitly or expressly of a personal, private or confidential nature (or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence);
  • the name of the person, if it appears with other Personal Information relating to such person, or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person;
  • provided that such Personal Information is not in the public domain or held by a public body and is publicly accessible.
2.2 Multiply will take reasonable steps to protect the Personal Information supplied by you from loss, misuse or unauthorised alteration in accordance with the relevant data protection laws.
2.3 Multiply may monitor and record communications or traffic for security purposes, to maintain the proper functioning and safety of the Service, or to investigate or detect any unauthorised use of the Services or our System, or when the law requires us to do so.
2.4 Multiply may from time to time utilise the Personal Information you choose to supply via the System for marketing, research, personalisation of content, user experience and data analytics. By registering on and accessing the System, you consent to the use of your Personal Information for these purposes.
2.5 Multiply may share any images that you upload to the System with any of its internal or associated digital platforms to enrich the experience of your interactions with them. While these images are the property of Multiply, we will request your permission should we require to use these images for any other purpose not mentioned above.
2.6 To provide you with the Services, we may need to share your information with others in the MMI Group of companies or contracted service providers (both locally and abroad). We will ensure that the contracted service providers agree to our privacy and security policies if they need access to your Personal Information. 

 

3. Registration information and Access Details
3.1 These Terms and Conditions (and any updated Terms and Conditions) shall remain in force and be binding on you until such time as you terminate use of the Services or the Services are terminated in accordance with clause 10 below.
3.2 In order to successfully register for the Services, you will be prompted to choose a username and password to enable you to securely access the System. For security purposes and in order for Multiply to verify your identity you will be required to enter your username and password each time that you access the System to use the Services.
3.3 For your convenience, the same username and password may  be used to access different electronic channels within the MMI group. This means that if your username and password are compromised or known to a third party, the third party will also have access to all these electronic channels.

3.4 You must ensure that at all times you keep your username, password and any other personal details relating to the login procedure (“Access Details”) secret and take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorised or fraudulent use of your Access Details.
3.5 Multiply confirms that it has reasonable security safeguards in place to protect your Access Details and other personal or confidential information provided by you to Multiply as part of the Services. However, you accept that while Multiply will take all reasonable steps to prevent security breaches in respect of the Services, any information sent over an unsecured link or communication system is susceptible to unlawful monitoring, interception or access by a third party for which Multiply will not be responsible.
3.6 Multiply will act on and accept some transactions done after your username and password have been entered. An OTP (OneTime-PIN) will be required for transactions deemed as sensitive transactions. Multiply will assume that all such transactions have been authorised by you, even if such transactions took place without your knowledge or consent or were not authorised by you.
3.7 You agree not to respond to any email or other correspondence that requests your Access Details.
3.8 You shall notify Multiply immediately upon becoming aware of or reasonably suspecting any unauthorised access to or use of your Access Details, by contacting Multiply on 0860 111 183. You agree to take appropriate steps to minimise any loss or harm to you including immediately changing your password.
3.9 Multiply may require additional verification before certain transactions can be completed. This verification may include requiring a response on your mobile device via USSD, or the entering of a unique number (OTP or one time PIN).
3.10 The additional verification will use the mobile number linked to your Multiply Money facility.
3.11 You are personally responsible for the security of and access to your mobile device. It is therefore your responsibility to secure your mobile device and its contents by way of security features made available to you on your mobile device (for example a password or pattern lock).
3.12 You will be liable for any transactions made with your mobile device even when you are not in possession of your mobile device, whether or not such transactions was made with or without your authorisation, by any person known to you or any third party having possession of your mobile device. 3.13 Additionally if your mobile device is lost or stolen you need to immediately notify Multiply so that we can assess if action needs to be taken to safe guard your user account and suspend it if necessary.
3.14 Multiply reserves the right to block or restrict access to the Services at any time to maintain or restore security, if we reasonably believe that your username and password have been compromised or are being used by an unauthorised person(s).

 

4. Use of the Services
4.1 You acknowledge and agree that:
4.1.1 While every effort is made to ensure that all payment and transactional functionality is available at all times and working correctly, Multiply will not be legally liable if any of these functions are unavailable. This includes but is not limited to Send Money, Mobile Payments, making transfers between wallets and viewing balances
4.1.2 While every effort is made to ensure that all Card management functionality is available at all times and working correctly, Multiply will not be legally liable if any of these functions are unavailable. This includes but is not limited to stop card, re-order card, change card PIN or set online PIN (3Dsecure). The onus is on you to contact the Multiply Money contact centre on 086 011 1183 for assistance with urgent card related queries.
4.1.3 no part of the Services constitutes financial advice or an intermediary service as defined in the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002 and all information which is consolidated on the System is based on the information which you provide to us and/or which we obtained on your behalf from Other Institutions;
4.1.4 you can engage with a financial planner and/or financial adviser to provide you with financial advice in respect of any financial decisions that you may take as a result of using the Services and/or System;
4.1.5 Multiply cannot guarantee and/or be held responsible for the availability or accuracy of the information which is displayed to you when you use the Services as information may not be updated on the System on a real-time basis;
4.1.6 you are responsible for the correctness and completeness of the information provided when transacting or managing your benefits;
4.1.7 Multiply will not be responsible for any losses/damages suffered due to the provision of incorrect or incomplete information relating to a transaction or instruction;
4.1.8 Multiply is not responsible for any transactions, fees, inquiries or other activities or business that you initiate or conduct with the Other Institutions for any products and services;
4.1.9 Multiply will not be responsible for any internet connectivity which prevents or negatively impacts your access to the Services;
4.1.10 while Multiply will take all reasonable steps to prevent security breaches in respect of the Services, any information sent over an unsecured link or communication system is susceptible to unlawful monitoring, interception or access by any third party and Multiply cannot be held liable;
4.1.11 the Services are subject to downtime (times when the Services are not available) and Multiply may from time to time fully or partially interrupt access to the Services, whether for maintenance or other purposes; and
4.1.12  Multiply has the right to replace, change or discontinue any existing functionality with regard to the Services from time to time. Notice thereof will be displayed within the affected application.
 
5. Costs
5.1 Some transactions and card functions may incur a fee, per the Multiply Money terms and conditions.
5.2 The latest Multiply Money terms and conditions and fees applicable will be available at multiply.co.za/multiplymoney.
5.3 Visit multiply.co.za for more information on fees and charges applicable to Multiply Money.
5.4 Multiply will not be responsible for the hardware, software or network service provider costs you may incur in order to access the Services.

 

6. Ownership
6.1 Multiply and the relevant third parties are the owners of the System and Services and retain all right, title and interest in and to the System and Services and all related documentation and proprietary products, whether developed, used to provide or created as part of the Services.
6.2 You agree that you have no intellectual property rights whatsoever in the System and Services and will not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content or reverse-engineer any part of the Services and the System.
6.3 You shall immediately bring to the attention of Multiply any infringement or suspected infringement by any third party of any of the intellectual property rights in the System and Services of which you are aware.

 

7. Other Applicable Terms and Conditions
7.1 These Terms and Conditions apply along with the other Multiply terms and conditions that govern your products, our Services and our relationship with you.
7.2 You must read these Terms and Conditions together with all the Multiply Money and Multiply Visa® Card terms and conditions

 

8. Termination
8.1 In the event that you do not access the System or use the Services for a period of 3 (three) months or more, Multiply shall be entitled, at its option, to terminate your use of the Services and may require you to re-register in order to access the System and the Services.
8.2 In the event that you breach any of these Terms and Conditions, Multiply has the right to either immediately suspend or terminate your access to the System and use of the Services with immediate effect. You understand and agree that Multiply will not be liable for any losses incurred as a result of any such suspension or termination of the Services.
8.3 You may at any time terminate your use of the System and Services by discontinuing your use of the Services.
8.4 The System and the Services may at any time be terminated by Multiply on 48 (forty-eight) hours’ written notice to you in the event of any material change in any law that is applicable to these Terms and Conditions or the application thereof, or any other circumstances in which it becomes uneconomical or commercially impractical to continue to provide the System and/or Services. Notification to you will take place by SMS or email to the contact details you have provided.
8.5 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms and Conditions, the System and Services may also be terminated by Multiply at any time, provided Multiply has given you at least 30 (thirty) days’ notice of such termination. Notification to you will take place by SMS or email to the contact details you have provided.
8.6 Upon termination, you shall immediately discontinue use of the System and Services.

 

9. No warranties
9.1 Save to the extent that Multiply has in fact done so expressly and in response to a request from you, Multiply does not warrant:
9.1.1 that the functionality of the System and the Services will meet your personal or financial requirements;
9.1.2 the proper performance or operation of the System and/or the Services;
9.1.3 that the operation of the System and/or Services will be reliable, always on time, secure, uninterrupted or error-free; or
9.1.4 that all System errors or defects will be corrected.
9.2 In addition, and to the extent that it is possible to do so in terms of the law, Multiply disclaims all warranties and conditions with respect to the System and/or the Services either express or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9.3 Any information and material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Services is done at your own discretion and risk. You are solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of any such material. No information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from the Services will create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions.

 

10. Limitation of liability
10.1 To the extent that it is lawful to do so, you indemnify Multiply against any demand, claim or action relating to or in connection with the use of the System or Services, whether directly or indirectly, unless such demand, claim or action arose as a direct consequence of the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Multiply, its employees or any of its third party service providers.
10.2 Multiply will not be liable to you for any claims or losses of whatever nature in relation to your use of the System or Services

as a result of any third party gaining unlawful access to the System or Services or any of its content or as a result of Multiply acting on an instruction received from you, including to access your information held with any Other Institution.
10.3 Subject to clause 10.1 above, you indemnify Multiply against and hold it harmless from:
10.3.1 all losses in respect of any claims of whatsoever nature which may be brought against Multiply or which Multiply may suffer or incur as a result of acting or not acting on any instruction received from you in relation to the Services;
10.3.2 any unauthorised interception or monitoring of the Services;
10.3.3 any unauthorised access (including but not limited to phishing) to your information displayed on the System or accessed by you as part of the Services or any breach of security or any destruction or access to your data or any destruction or theft of or damage to any of your equipment;
10.3.4 all losses (including, but not limited to, indirect, incidental, consequential loss and damage) caused by or arising from your use of or your inability to use the Services and/or your breach of these Terms and Conditions, to the extent that it is permissible for you to give this undertaking in law;
10.3.5 any infringement of any intellectual property rights by you;
10.3.6 all losses incurred as a result of unauthorised access to or alteration of your information and/or any third-party information provided by you or any third party pursuant to these Terms and Conditions;
10.3.7 all losses arising from relying on any information or calculations obtained by you through use of the Services;
10.3.8 all losses, including losses for unauthorised access to your confidential and/or personal information, incurred as a result of the malfunction, failure or unavailability of the Services, the System or any hardware, software or equipment, the loss or destruction of any data, power failures, corruption of storage media, natural phenomena, riots, acts of vandalism, sabotage, terrorism, or any other event beyond Multiply’s control;
10.3.9 all losses incurred as a result of your failure to comply with the security obligations contained in these Terms and Conditions;
10.3.10 losses incurred as a result of the Services being degraded or during the maintenance of the Services; 10.3.11 losses incurred as result of any inaccuracies in the provision of the Services and/or the System.

 

11. Applicable laws and jurisdiction
11.1 The relationship between Multiply and you and all aspects of these Terms and Conditions will be governed by and be interpreted pursuant to the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
11.2 You further consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts in respect of any dispute which may arise from this Agreement.

Members can book with Nu Metro in four different ways:

At the cinema till points – members must present their Multiply membership card when making a booking. They will also need to give their date of birth.

  • Interested independent gyms can find out all the relevant information on www.fitvault.co.za .
  • Click on the “Register a Fitness Centre” tab on the site and follow the prompts to complete the process.
  • Once the payment process has been selected and the registration successfully completed FitVault will provide confirmation via email to confirm contact details and when the posters will be sent. Posters will take up to 7 working days  to be delivered.
  • FitVault will email the initial invoice for payment.
  • On receipt of payment confirmation, FitVault will load gym’s details onto the FitVault app.

4. How to earn points:

  • Members can scan the QR code on the Multiply Posters with their phones in the gym to earn their Active DayzTM and points will be allocated.
  • Members need to spend a minimum of 30 mins in the gym in order to get an Active Day.

  • Members need to log 10 000 steps or more a day to earn an Active Day.

3. How to use this benefit:

  • Once members have obtained a pedometer, it is important to set it up with their individual measurements. Members must insert their stride length and weight to ensure accurate step data. 
  • Install the software from the micro flash disc in your pack on a computer. Alternatively, they can download the pedometer software from the Momentum website at www.momentum.co.za/multiply. Navigate to the “Info Centre” tab on the Multiply home page and select to download the pedometer software from the member support section. 
  • Members have to register their pedometer to their Multiply profile before they can start earning points. Connect the pedometer to the USB-port on the computer and open the pedometer application to register it. Members can use their Momentum website username and password to login to the pedometer application. Once they have completed the registration process, they must download their steps by clicking on the “Download” button. This takes less than a minute, and can view their updated data on the Momentum website immediately.
  • Join the pedometer community to access a huge amount of information to help achieve goals. Members can do this by visiting the Momentum website at www.momentum.co.za/multiply. Log into the website using the username and password. Navigate to the Multiply home page and click on the “Fitness activities” tab. Scroll down to the pedometer section and click on the “Go to the pedometer community” button. 

 

4. Technical details:

  • The pedometer download software for Windows can be downloaded from our website under the “Info Centre” (www.momentum.co.za/multiply). 
  • The pedometer software requires Windows XP Service Pack 3 or a more recent version as the operating system.
  • The pedometer has a 21-day, plus the current day’s data memory. Tip: Download steps on a regular basis to prevent data loss.
  • Aerobic steps are measured by walking more than 60 steps per minute for more than 10 minutes successively. If members take a rest of less than one minute after a continuous walk of more than 10 minutes, the pedometer will regard this as part of a continuous walk. 
  • When the low battery indicator appears on the display, members should immediately replace the battery with a new CR2032 battery. 
  • The low battery indicator will blink when the battery is low, and will appear continuously if the battery power is exhausted. The unit then stops measurement and you cannot transfer data. 
  • The battery should not be removed around 24:00. The measurement results of the day when the battery was removed will be added to the measurement results of the day the battery was inserted. 
  • Measurement results are automatically stored in memory on the hour (for example, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, etc.)
  • When members remove the battery, the time will be reset to 24:00 and must set it again after inserting the new battery. 
  • Members are responsible for replacing their pedometer batteries. Multiply accepts no responsibility for data lost as a result of a failing battery.

 

5. Before you use the pedometer:

  • Members must get medical advice before they start with a fitness programme. Multiply accept no responsibility for injuries or illness resulting from the use of the pedometer.
  • Members must accept the pedometer disclaimer before they can use the pedometer. This involves giving Multiply consent to use the information upload on the Multiply website and to get e-mails from Multiply.
  • Individual members who set up step challenges against other Multiply members take full responsibility for these challenges and for determining the reward for the winners of these challenges.
  • Multiply takes no responsibility for any loss or damages that result from members willingly giving out information to third parties or if the  agreed prizes for the challenges are not delivered.
  • The following hazardous situations should be avoided when using the Multiply pedometer and related equipment:
    • Members must contact their physician or healthcare provider before beginning a weight reduction or exercise programme.
    • Members must keep the unit out of reach of small children as it contains small pieces which could be swallowed. Members must contact a physician immediately if any piece is swallowed. 
    • Do not touch the USB connector with wet hands.
    • Do not use a cell phone near the pedometer while transferring data.
    • Do not leave the pedometer unit plugged into the PC or laptop for an extended period of time.
    • Follow the disposal instructions applicable to lo local regulations when disposing of your device.
    • Do not disassemble, modify or submerge the unit in water. 
    • Do not subject the unit to strong shocks, such as dropping it on the ground.
  • The unit may not count steps correctly in the following conditions:
    • when placed in a bag and the bag moves irregularly,
    • when it swings from a belt, the top of pants or bag, 
    • when members shuffle or are wearing sandals,
    • when walking is inconsistent, such as stopping and starting frequently,
    • while standing up or sitting down, 
    • while playing sports other than walking,
    • while making ascending or descending movements on stairs or steep slopes,
    • when it is influenced by vibrations from moving vehicles, such as bicycles, automobiles, trains or busses, and
    • when walking very slowly.

3. Types of membership and the status and levels
• The number of adults on the Multiply membership will determine the number of points required to move up the status levels:
– Single member: A member earns points and the single threshold applies.
– Family of two: If the dependant is the partner, then both the member and partner earn points and the family threshold applies. If the dependant is a child (single parent), then the member earns points and the single threshold applies.
– Family of three: If one of the dependants is the partner, then both the member and partner earn points and the family threshold applies. If the dependants are all children (single parent), then the member earns points and the single threshold applies.
 
4. Status and level rules
• Members may only move to a higher status or level by earning Multiply points, in the ways set out in point 6 of this section of the document.
 
Joining Multiply Premier and moving up through the status levels
• New members will be placed on Bronze status. The more points they earn, the higher the status they will reach.
• The different levels are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Private Club status.
• To move up a level, members must earn enough points to reach the relevant status threshold.

Joining Multiply Provider and moving up through the levels

• New members will be placed on Level 1. The more points they earn, the higher the level they will reach.

There are no levels for Multiply Starter members. 
 
Multiply status is guaranteed for a set time only
• A member’s Multiply status will remain in place from the time they earn the relevant status level until the end of the following calendar year, unless:
– their membership changes,
– the point structure of the Multiply status levels changes, or
– they have not earned enough points to maintain their current status. For example: if they have earned sufficient points in a calendar year to achieve Gold status, then they will remain on Gold status for the duration of the next calendar year.
• Multiply status will, however, be adjusted to a lower status if the member did not earn enough points to maintain their current status in a calendar year.
 
When members move from another rewards programme to Multiply
 
• Momentum may, at its sole discretion, place a new member, who was previously a member of a similar lifestyle rewards programme, on a comparable status level (points will not be allocated) for the remainder of the calendar year, provided the member gives us a points statement not older than one month.
• Members will stay on this status level for the rest of the following calendar year.
• Members will start earning Multiply points from the date of joining Multiply and will earn roll-over points based on the points they accumulated during the calendar year from the date of joining Multiply.
• Members must earn the required points during the following calendar year to make sure that they can stay on the same status level.
 
Some rewards/benefits are dependent on the status level
• The details of some Multiply rewards depend on the member’s status level. If the member’s Multiply status changes, the rules relating to how they can use the reward/benefit may also change.

7. Claiming points
 
• If members earn points in one year and claim them in another, they have only three months to claim their points. For example, if they earn the points on 1 December, they must claim them by 1 March. If they do not claim the points within this period, Multiply will not award the points.
• Please note that there may be a delay of between four to six weeks in the allocation of points. If the points do not show within this time period, please phone the Multiply Contact Centre.
 
8. How to find out how many points a member has

3. Benefit rules:

  • Hotel accommodation booked through Multiply is for leisure purposes only.
  • Members may not use this benefit for more than 40 days per family member in one calendar year (January to December). This includes bookings at African Pride Hotels.
  • Room bookings must be for a minimum of three consecutive nights, or two consecutive nights, which include a Saturday night.
  • Discounts apply to the best room rate available at the time members make a booking. The rate will change depending on the season. Discounts do not apply to any specials or promotional rates.
  • The room rate does not include any extra expenses, like extra meals, phone calls, room service, drinks, laundry service, tourism levies, parking fees and other surcharges.

3. Benefit rules:

  • If a BRONZE – PRIVATE CLUB member books more than 2 return bookings at their discount will revert back to 10% and 5% depending on the booking class booked.
  • Members may not book directly with the airline. Bookings may only take place through the Multiply Travel Desk.
  • Multiply will not be held responsible for the partner app downtime. Members are advised to make use of other channels to make a booking. 
  • Flights booked through Multiply are for leisure purposes only and must span a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 12 months.
  • Business Class bookings are allowed, but the booking will count as 2 Economy class bookings. 4. How to use this benefit – booking a flight:

3. How to use this benefit:
Joining the gym:

  • When members join the gym for the first time, they must:
    • take their ID document and Multiply membership card to the gym of their choice,
    • complete their application process,
    • pay their card fee,
    • pay the compulsory one-off activation fee of R749 for the principal member and spouse/partner (per person), and
    • give their banking details for the collection of their monthly debit order

  • Pro-rata billing in the first month of gym membership
  • Members can choose one of the following options when joining the gym:
    • join on the first of a month,
    • Planet Fitness members can future-date their gym membership activation date to the beginning of a new month (future-dated joining
    • can only be on the first of the following month),
    • activate their membership with immediate effect (on any day in a month). With this option (i.e. after the first day of the month),
    • Multiply will apply pro-rata billing to calculate the membership fee (before applying the Save as you Gym™ discount)

  • The benefit is based on the standard one-year Planet Fitness retail membership rate, which varies by club type, and does not apply to any membership specials that Planet Fitness runs.
  • A principal member and partner may be members of different health club groups (i.e. Virgin Active and Planet Fitness), but neither of them may belong to both health club groups simultaneously through Multiply.
  • If members use the Multiply Planet Fitness benefit, you cannot join Virgin Active at the discounted Multiply rates. However, if you join Virgin Active as a self-paid member, you will be able to earn Multiply points for training at Virgin Active clubs.
  • Members need to visit the gym at least twice a month (24 times a year) to enjoy the Save as you Gym™ benefit. Multiply will measure members’ visits over a rolling 12-month period. If members do not reach the 24-visit requirement in 12 months, their monthly discount will reduce to a 10% discount on their gym fees. To reactivate the Save as you Gym™, members do not need to pay a reactivation fee, but will have to increase their visits to reach the minimum 24 visits over a rolling 12-month period. When members have reached the 24-visit requirement, the Save as you Gym™ benefit will be reactivated.
  • Multiply will only record one visit per day for the purpose of earning Multiply points and for the minimum gym visit requirement.
  • Members are responsible for making sure that the gym accurately records their visits. If the Planet Fitness system is offline, members must ask that their visits are recorded manually in the register at reception.
  • Members can check the number of gym visits recorded for a particular month, as well as the number of visits in the last 12-month rolling period by logging onto www.momentum.co.za/multiply or www.planetfitness.co.za.
  • Multiply will pause the 12-month rolling period only if a member cannot gym for a period of six months or longer. The member must inform Multiply in advance if they will not be able to attend the gym. Members must submit the request not to have their gym membership cancelled in writing, along with the required proof. Multiply will make no exceptions or allowances for illness or travel for less than two months when they determine the monthly discounts.
  • If members change club type during a month, Multiply will only charge the adjusted monthly fee from the following month.
  • A transfer between health clubs or a membership downgrade/upgrade requires an administration fee per transaction, as determined by Planet Fitness. Please call Planet Fitness directly on 0861 496 463 for the relevant fee.
  • A financial adviser or consultant cannot register on members’ behalf.

  • Please note: There is a twenty one-day cooling-off period when members join. When members sign their Multiply Planet Fitness contract for the first time, there is a twenty one cooling-off period during which members are allowed to cancel the contract and get a refund for any money they have paid.
  • The Multiply Planet Fitness membership is made up of two components: the contract with Planet Fitness and the Multiply discount. Members must cancel both these components by taking the following respective steps:
  • Contact Multiply to inform them that membership must be cancelled. There is a one-month notice period for cancelling member discounts:
    • If Multiply processes the cancellation before the 10th of the month, the discount notice period will run until the end of the current month.
    • If Multiply processes the cancellation after the 10th of the month, the discount notice period will run until the end of the following month.
  • The discounted membership will stop at the end of the notice period.

  • Multiply Premier members can purchase one discounted ticket per member on their Multiply contract per match.
  • Multiply Starter members can purchase two discounted tickets per contract per match.
  • Multiply Provider members can purchase four discounted tickets per contract per match.
  • Multiply Premier members will be entitled to one free grass/family area ticket for each of the ODD matches for each member on their Multiply contract. If the number of members is less than four, Multiply will allocate four free tickets.  For example: If a member has a partner and one dependent (total of three members), Multiply will allocate four free tickets.   • Free grass tickets for the ODD games will be subject to availability and Multiply will issue tickets on a “first come, first served” basis.
